Abstract
Ba Jin's encounter with tuberculosis heightened his sensitivity to the disease,and the loss of several fam-ily members and friends to it amplified his anxiety and dread.In his literary works such as Family and Cold Night,Ba Jin vividly illustrates the emotional distress of tuberculosis sufferers to criticize the corrupt social systems and in-equities of his time.His writing weaves together themes of domestic life and national identity with the everyday life of intellectuals,incorporating tuberculosis as a thematic element into the narrative.Through a composed analysis,Ba Jin contemplates the future of tuberculosis patients and reflects on the prospects for the nation's rejuvenation.
