摘要
在《达洛维夫人》中,报时的钟声贯穿全文,打破了传统小说的线性叙述方式,成为推进小说叙事与场景转换的关键.作为叙事"闪回"的听觉触点,钟声能引发小说人物的刹那之思,揭示出他们丰盈多变的精神世界.同时,定时敲响的钟声为不同个体的意识流动提供了共同的支撑点,由此营造出共时性体验.钟声的敲响意味着线性时间的流逝,逐渐减弱的钟声里承载着小说人物对生命的沉思与顿悟.
Abstract
In Mrs.Dalloway,the clock chimes throughout the entire text,breaking the linear narrative mode of tra-ditional novels and becoming the key to promoting the novel's narration and scene transformation.As an auditory touchpoint for narrative"flashbacks",the bells trigger the momentary thoughts of the characters,revealing their rich and changeable spiritual worlds.At the same time,the regular ringing of the bells provide a common support point for the flow of consciousness of different individuals,thus creating a synchronic experience.The ringing of the bells indicates the passage of linear time,and the diminishing ringing carries the characters'contemplation and epiphany of life.
