Thermodynamic properties of bariumhexaborate Ba3B6O9(OH)6
In this paper,barium hexaborate Ba3B6O9(OH)6 was synthesized by hydrothermal method,and ana-lyzed by X-ray diffraction(XRD),infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),comprehensive thermal analysis(TG-DSC)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The molar dissolution enthalpy of Ba3B6O9(OH)6 in 0.9995 mol·dm-3HCl(aq)was determined by microcalorimeter to be(32.34±0.58)kJ·mol-1,and its standard molar enthalpy of formation was calculated to be-(7130.664±4.2)kJ·mol-1.In addition,the molar enthal-py of formation of[B6O9(OH)6]6-was estimated to be-5517.744 kJ·mol-1 by group contribution method.
