Cornus officinalis,as one of the important traditional Chinese medicinal varieties in China,is rich in resources,with a variety of constituents,pharmacological effects and great medicinal value.At present,a variety of chemical substances have been isolated and identified from C.officinalis,including iridoid terpenoids and their glycosides,triterpenoids,organic acids,flavonoids,polysaccharides,etc.;and the pharmacological effects mainly include antitumor,hypoglycemia,neuron protection,antioxidant and anti-inflammatory.In this manuscript,the main chemical constituents and pharmacological effects of C.officinalis are reviewed by searching the relevant literature at home and abroad in the past 20 years,with a view to providing new ideas and directions for the study of C.officinalis'mechanism in modern clinical practice.
