Clinical and pathological characteristics of mixed cervical cancer with adenoid basal cell carcinoma and adenoid cystic carcinoma
Objective To study the clinical characteristics, pathological features, molecular mechanisms, treatment and prognosis of adenoid cystic carcinoma(ACC)and adenoid basal cell carcinoma(ABC)in cervical mixed carcinoma. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on a case of cervical ACC with ABC and CIN in 2020.Immunohistochemistry,human papillomavirus(HPV)infection status, and fluorescence immunofluorescence in situ hybridization(FISH)detection of MYB-NFIB gene fusion were analyzed, and prognosis was followed up.Results An elderly woman was admitted due to vaginal bleeding.Upon physical examination,a cauliflower like mass was found at the cervical opening, indicating positive contact with blood. The high-risk HPV 16,33,and 52 types were positive, and the histopathological result show ACC with ABC and CIN grade 3.ACC showed small tubular, sieve shaped, and solid sheet shaped growth, with immune markers CK7(+),CD117(+),p40(-),and p63(-).ABC grew in small nests or strands, with immune markers such as CD117(-),p63(+),and p40(+),both of which had diffuse strong positive p16.The MYB-NFIB gene fusion was negative, and the results were consistent with domestic and foreign literature. Conclusion ACC and ABC often coexist and are high-risk HPV related cancers.
