Diagnostic value of combined application of S100A6 in differentiating thyroid cancer from benign thyroid lesions
Objective To explore the diagnostic value of S100A6 combined with CK19,Galectin-3 and P27 in differentiating thyroid cancer(DTC)from benign thyroid lesions. Methods A total of 119 patients diagnosed with DTC by postoperative pathology in Chengde Central Hospital from July 2020 to March 2023 were selected, including 96 cases of papillary thyroid carcinoma(PTC)and 23 cases of follicular thyroid carcinoma(FTC);another 78 patients with benign conditions were selected as the control group. The expression of four proteins in different thyroid lesions was detected by IHC,and the diagnostic effect of the combined application of S100A6 protein was analyzed. Results The positive expression rates of S100A6,CK19,Galectin-3,and P27 in the malignant group were 85.7%,94.1%,89.1%,and 45.4%,respectively,and the positive expression rates in the benign group were 17.9%,16.7%,35.9%,and 83.3%,respectively.There were significant differences in the expression of the four markers between each group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).S100A6(+),CK19(+),and P27(-)were influencing factors of TC(P<0.05).The maximum AUC(S100A6/CK19/P27)of S100A6 joint detection was 0.974,the sensitivity was 97.4%,and the specificity was 92.4%.Conclusion The combined use of S100A6 protein improves the diagnostic efficiency, sensitivity and specificity compared with single use,and significantly enhances the differential diagnosis of DTC.It is recommended that S100A6 be used in combination with CK19 and P27.
