Gastric fundus gland derived tumors:a clinicopathological analysis of fifteen cases
Objective To investigate the clinical and pathological characteristics, diagnosis, and differential diagnosis of gastric fundus gland derived tumors, including oxyntic gland adenoma(OGA),gastric adenocarcinoma of fundic gland type(GA-FG)and gastric adenocarcinoma of fundic-gland mucosa type(GA-FGM).Methods The clinical and pathological data of 15 cases of gastric fundus gland derived tumors diagnosed by Army Special Medical Center and Chongqing Jiangbei District People's Hospital from January 2020 to May 2023 were collected, and the pathological morphological characteristics, immunohistochemical test result, treatment and prognosis, were analyzed combined with the literature. Results Among the 15 patients, there were 9 males and 6 females, aged 52-76 years, with an average age of 62 years. The tumor was mainly located in the fundus and body of the stomach;OGA in 5 cases,GA-FG in 9 cases, and GA-FGM in 1 case; All patients had 2 to 30 months follow-up and showed no recurrence or metastasis. Conclusion Gastric fundus gland derived tumors are rare,OGA/GA-FG its histological morphology and immune phenotype have obvious similarity.OGA may be an early lesion of GA-FG,complete endoscopic resection of the lesion is the preferred treatment. And gastric adenocarcinoma of fundic-gland mucosa type(GA-FGM)is more rare,This tumor is not yet included in the WHO digestive system tumor classification. Its biological behavior needs to be further observed and explored in more cases.
