Placental chorioangiomatosis:a clinicopathological analysis of seventeen cases
Objective To explore the clinicopathological features, diagnosis, differential diagnosis of placental chorioangiomatosis(CM)and impact on perinatal outcome. Methods 17 cases of CM were confirmed in the Department of Pathology from June 2021 to March 2023 were collected, and their clinical and pathological data were retrospectively analyzed and summarized. Results Of the 17 cases of chorionic angiomatosis, focaltype was 15(88.2%),including focal 7 and stage 8(2 cases showed terminal villi involvement);diffuse 2(11.8%,all cases showed terminal villi involvement);statistical differences existed in the overall distribution of CM and non-CM in growth retardation, premature birth and stillbirth(P<0.05).Conclusion CM is a relatively rare placental villous vascular disease. In addition to dry villus and immature intermediate villi,it can also involve terminal villi, which has adverse effects on the outcome of perinatal infants, and needs clinical attention. The accurate evaluation of placenta is of clinical significance.
