Development and Challenges of Smart Cities Based on Internet of Things Tech-nology
This paper explores the development and challenges of smart cities based on Internet of things(IoT)tech-nology.Firstly,we investigate the widespread applications of IoT technology in smart cities,including smart transporta-tion systems,urban energy management,as well as smart healthcare and education.Secondly,we elaborate on the characteristics and elements of smart cities,analyze the current development status and trends,and assess their impact on the environment and quality of life.Subsequently,we discuss the privacy and security issues faced by IoT technol-ogy in smart cities,along with the vulnerability of urban infrastructure and the threats of cyber-attacks.Finally,we propose strategies and methods to address these challenges,including privacy protection policies,data analysis,and the application of intelligent algorithms,as well as the importance of policy-making and collaboration.Through this re-search,we highlight the pivotal role of IoT technology in the development of smart cities,while emphasizing the ur-gency of addressing these challenges.Future efforts should focus on further research and collaboration to promote the sustainable development of smart cities.
