Numerical Simulation Study on K-coefficient of Delta Flow Meter
The Delta flow meter adopts a unique double turtle wing symmetrical structure, which has the advantages of low pressure loss, simple structure, and high reliability. It has been widely used in many fields such as petroleum, petrochemical, power, and chemical engineering. This article uses fluid simulation software to simulate the Delta flow meter at different inlet flow rates. The simulation results show that the K-coefficient of the Delta flow meter is not only related to its own structure, but also directly proportional to the flow rate.Using a K-coefficient within the full range measurement range will cause significant measurement errors. Finally, the Delta flow meter was calibrated using a water flow standard device using the standard meter method at different flow rates, and the results showed that us-ing a fixed K-coefficient across the full range would result in measurement results exceeding the standard. Therefore,it is necessary to set the K-coefficient of the Delta flow meter in segments.
