General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out in his report at the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China the need to"develop the marine economy,protect the marine ecological environment,and accelerate the construction of a maritime power."Regional marine ecological environmental governance can be seen as the most actionable global governance solution.This article reviews the basic situation of regional marine ecological environmental governance,focusing on the progress and existing issues in the ecological environmental governance of Yellow Sea,the East China Sea,South China Sea,and polar regions.It analyzes the construction path of China's participation in the legal mechanisms of regional marine ecological environmental governance.The article suggests that China should adhere to the Xi Jinping ecological civilization concept as a guiding ideology,follow the principle of regional multilateral cooperation,aim to build a community of shared future for mankind,adopt a path of cooperation with increasing political sensitivity,establish a legal framework for regional marine ecological environmental governance,and achieve sustainable development of the oceans.
