Research advances in cognitive training in Alzheimer disease
Alzheimer disease is the most common neurodegenerative disease characterized by cognitive impairment,mental and behavioral disorders,and decreased social functioning.The current mainstream therapeutic drugs,cholinester-ase inhibitors and N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor antagonists,mainly focus on improving cognitive function.The advance-ment in the development of novel therapeutics for the etiology has been sluggish,and there exists a paucity of drug options available.As a novel cognitive intervention approach,cognitive training has received increasing attention in the treatment of Alzheimer disease due to its ability to enhance cognition,improve daily living skills,and regulate emotions by bolstering cognitive reserve and promoting neuroplasticity.This article reviews the clinical research and application of cognitive train-ing in Alzheimer disease,aiming to provide reference for rational application of cognitive training in Alzheimer disease.
