Systemic immune-inflammation index(SII)is a novel composite inflammation index that can comprehen-sively assess the association among stroke,immune response,and inflammation based on the characteristics of inflamma-tory cells such as neutrophils,monocytes and platelets.Recent studies have demonstrated that SII is closely associated with the course and progression of stroke.This review discusses the current research progress and the potential value of SII in the course of stroke.
