Study of"Yunnanese Chinese"in Zhongnan Peninsula and Its New Exploration
The term"Yunnanese Chinese"within the context of the Zhongnan Peninsula(中南半岛)represents a multifaceted regional ethnic concept and entity.Previous studies on"Yunnanese Chinese"in this region have primarily focused on Han and Hui immigrants who spoke Yunnan dialects.However,the"Yunnanese Chinese"also include other ethnically diverse populations that have historically resided in Yunnan.The"Yunnanese Chinese"in the Zhongnan Peninsula are characterized by diverse ethnic origins,varying migration patterns and timelines,and distinct experiences within each country of residence.Despite these differences,they share a common connection to their ancestral homeland of Yunnan.Therefore,a systematic research approach is necessary to move beyond general descriptive accounts and engage in deeper theoretical analyses to explore the value and significance of this complex phenomenon.Such an approach will contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of the"Yunnanese Chinese"diaspora in the Zhongnan Peninsula.
