Progress in biomarkers of caregiving burden in family caregivers for de-mentia patients
Caring for dementia patients can impose a range of physical, psychological, and social health is-sues for family caregivers.Selecting precise indicators for the objective assessment of the health status is crucial for care-givers.In this review, the recent progress in biomarkers of caregiving burden in family caregivers for dementia patients is summarized, with an emphasis on neuroendocrinology, immunology, cardiovascular health, neurocognition, and molecu-lar aging. We also analyze the heterogeneity of the biomarkers.Given the increasing number of dementia cases and the heavy burden on family caregivers, improving existing methods for biomarker detection and developing more accurate bio-markers are of great importance for evaluating and maintaining the health of family caregivers.
