Theoretical framework Construction of the System Design of Integrating Museums and Primary and Secondary Schools Education in China
After the new millennium,Chinese museum sector has developed greatly and has led to progress in the cooperation between museums and schools,and in the integration of culture and education.Since 2007,education has been recognized by the international museum community as the primary purpose and function of museums.In addition,since 2008,China has implemented the free admission policy for museums.Under this background a mechanism for primary and secondary schools to utilize museums to carry out education activities is gradually taking shape,though the overall development is still in its infancy,and there is an turgent need of a system to promote it.The integration of museums,and primary and secondary education is not equivalent or limited to the cooperation between museums and schools,but is a systematic project involving the government,schools,museums,families,and communities.It is directed by the government,basing on museums and schools as main body,with museums taking initiative.The theoretical framework of system design constructed in this context is divided into three levels(top,middle,and bottom design),and is committed to providing intellectual support for theory and practice using a series offacts and figures.
