Construction and Reflection of Accessible Museum Services for Visually Impaired People
Visually impaired people are an easily neglected group among museum visitors.In recent museology,it is important for museums to focus on those people and launch special cultural services accordingly in order to fully perform their public function.The Art Beyond Sight(ABS)project carried out in New York is committed to providing the visually impaired with free access to art,cultural,leisure,sports and recreational activities.Chinese museums have also had a lot of experience in the development and implementation of accessibility projects.Through inductive analysis of such museum projects,this article proposed improving suggestions from angles of both museums and visually impaired people,aiming to promote more actively exploration and development of cultural projects by museums for visually impaired people,and to provide more friendly,helpful,inclusive public cultural services.
