A Comprehensive Evaluation of the Production Performance and Nutritional Quality of Agropyron cristatum in Xinjiang Based on Grey Correlation Analysis
Agropyron cristatum is an excellent forage grass species growing in arid and semi-arid regions with important application value in production. In this study, grey correlation analysis was con-ducted for a comprehensive evaluation of the production performance and nutritional quality of 24 acces-sions of A.cristatum.The results demonstrated that wild resources of A.cristatum in Xinjiang exhibit advantages in plant height, leaf characteristics, biomass yield, and other production performances. The fresh biomass yield of WG3 was 14346.33 kg/hm2,which was 31.94%and 25.33%higher than control cultivars,'Nuodan'and'Mengnong',respectively. For nutritional quality, some wild materials are supe-rior in parameters such as acid detergent fiber, crude protein content, and crude fat content.WG3,in par-ticular,had the most crude protein content at 11.78%,while crude protein content of WG8 and WG16 were slightly lower at 10.65%and 10.18%,respectively.All three accessions had significantly higher(P<0.05)crude protein content compared to control cultivar'Mengnong'(8.56%).Grey correlation analysis revealed that WG3,WG19,and WG6 had the highest comprehensive evaluation values in A.cristatum materials from Xinjiang.
