The Effect of Complex Lactic Acid Bacteria on the Quality of Alfalfa Silage with Different Water Content
To investigate the effects of complex lactic acid bacteria and moisture content on the fermen-tation of alfalfa silage, alfalfa with water content of 59.50%and 71.40%were used as raw materials.A control group without bacteria(CK),a group of Lactobacillus plantarum+Lactobacillus buchneri(Z+B),a group of Lactobacillus plantarum+Lactobacillus buchneri+Pediococcus pentosaceus(Z+B+W),a group of Lactobacillus plantarum+Lactobacillus buchneri+Lactobacillus kimchi fermentation powder(Z+B+P),a group of Lactobacillus plantarum+Lactobacillus buchneri+Pediococcus pentosaceus+Lac-tobacillus kimchi fermentation powder(Z+B+W+P),and a group of Lactobacillus kimchi fermentation powder(P)were set up for treatment under room temperature conditions. After 60 days of silage fermenta-tion,the quality of alfalfa silage was measured. The results showed that when the water content of alfalfa was 59.50%,the dry matter content and crude protein(CP)content of the group treated with lactic acid bacteria were significantly higher than those of the CK group(P<0.05),and the pH value was signifi-cantly lower than that of the CK group(P<0.05);Among them, the Z+B group had the highest dry mat-ter content(38.80%FM),CP content(20.60%DM),and crude fat(EE)content(4.50%DM),the low-est neutral detergent fiber(NDF)content(34.54%DM)and acid detergent fiber(ADF)content(27.50%DM),the lowest pH value(4.55),the highest lactic acid(LA)content(7.40%FM),and no butyric acid(BA)was detected. When the water content of alfalfa was 71.40%,the dry matter and LA content of the group treated with lactic acid bacteria were significantly higher than those of the CK group(P<0.05),and the pH was significantly lower than that of the CK group(P<0.05).Among them, the dry matter content(27.55%FM)and CP content(20.30%DM)of the Z+B+W+P group were higher than those of the other groups, the NDF content(36.32%DM)and ADF content(29.25%DM)were the low-est,the LA content(6.79%FM)was the highest, and the BA content(1.09%FM)was the lowest. In summary, the effect of Z+B treatment was the best under low water conditions(59.50%),and the effect of Z+B+W+P treatment on silage was the best under high water conditions(71.40%).
