Meta-Analysis of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of chronic gastritis with anxiety or depress
Objective To systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of chronic gastritis(CG)with anxiety or depress. Methods Clinical randomized controlled trial(RCT)on CG with anxiety or depress in CNKI,VIP,Wanfang,CBM,PubMed and Embase were retrieved from database inception to December 2022,and two researchers screened the literature, extracted the data, evaluated the literature according to the"Cochrane risk-of-bias tool",and used the"RevMan5.4"for data analysis. Results A total of 9 randomized controlled trials involving a total of 724 subjects with CG and anxiety or depression were included. The results of meta-analysis showed that TCM had clinical efficacy(RR = 1.24,95%CI:1.16~1.33),apparent efficiency(RR = 1.47,95%CI:1.29~1.68),total clinical symptom score(SMD=-1.19,95%CI:-1.47~-0.91),stomach pain(SMD=-0.97,95%CI:-1.29~-0.66),flank swelling pain(SMD=-1.00,95%CI:-1.31~-0.68)was better than the western medicine group; In the treatment of anxiety and depression, the treatment of CG with anxiety(SMD=-3.61,95%CI:-4.10~-3.11)or depress(SMD=-1.56,95%CI:-2.25~-0.88)in the treatment of CG with anxiety or depress was significantly better than western medicine alone, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion TCM has excellent efficacy and high safety in the treatment of CG with anxiety or depress. However, due to limitations in the quality of the included literature, more precise and valuable studies are needed for further verification.
