Pharmaceutical practice of a case of interstitial lung disease induced by oral amiodarone
Objective To investigate the strategy of clinical pharmacists in identifying adverse drug reactions, using a case of interstitial lung disease caused by oral amiodarone as an illustrative example. Methods According to the characteristics, risk factors and possible mechanism of amiodarone-induced interstitial lung disease, the correlation between amiodarone and interstitial lung disease was evaluated.Additionally, pharmaceutical care and medication education were implemented. Results The causal relationship between the interstitial lung disease and amiodarone was rated as probably related. The patient's knowledge regarding adverse drug reactions and their self-monitoring awareness were enhanced. Conclusion Clinical pharmacists can use evidence-based pharmacy to assist clinical early identification of high-risk patients and adverse drug reactions, and avoid drug-induced damage to the greatest extent. This is achieved by collating and analyzing the patient's medical history and medication history.
