Clinical observation on TCM alleviating ADR caused by antiangiogenic drugs
Objective To summarize the characteristics of adverse reactions caused by anti-angiogenic drugs, and to compare the adverse reactions caused by traditional Chinese medicine combined with anti-angiogenic drugs and anti-angiogenic drugs,so as to provide reference for the safe use of anti-angiogenic drugs for tumor therapy. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on 53 patients with malignant tumors in the Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2022 to February 2023.All patients were treated with anti-vascular targeted drugs. The observation group(28 cases)was treated with anti-angiogenic drugs combined with traditional Chinese medicine, and the control group(25 cases)was treated with anti-angiogenic drugs. The types and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(39.3%vs.68%).The incidence of hemorrhage, anaemia, thrombocytopenia, diarrhea, vomiting, proteinuria, rash, numbness of hands and feet, and oral ulcer in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group.Chinese medicine is effective in the treatment of fatigue. However, there was no significant difference between the observation group and the control group in reducing the incidence of hypertension and leukopenia. Conclusion Chinese medicine is effective in relieving the adverse reactions caused by anti-angiogenesis targeted drugs, relieving the pain of patients and improving the quality of life of patients.
