Normative and rational analysis of proton pump inhibitors in patients with gastroesophageal reflux-like symptoms
Objective To analyze the standardization and rationality of oral proton pump inhibitors(PPIs)in outpatients with gastroesophageal reflux-like symptoms in the gastroenterology department of our hospital, and to provide reference for clinical practice. Methods From July 1,2017 to December 31,2022,200 outpatients in the department of gastroenterology department of our hospital with gastroesophageal reflux-like symptoms as the chief complaint and complete endoscopy and 24-hour pH monitoring of the esophagus were selected. The use of PPIs was statistically analyzed, and the rationality and standardization of the use of PPIs were analyzed. Results Among the 200 patients,182 patients were using PPIs,of which 102 patients(56.04%)took PPIs for more than 3 months, rebeprazole sodium enteric-coated capsules were relatively heavy in the PPIs taken, followed by omeprazole enteric-coated capsules, esomeprazole enteric-coated capsules, pantoprazole sodium enteric-coated capsules, lansoprazole enteric-coated tablets.Among the 182 patients,111 cases(60.99%)had irrational drug use, including 71 cases(39.01%)of irrational preventive drug use and 40 cases(21.98%)of irrational therapeutic drug use.According to the distribution of symptoms of 111 cases of irrational use of PPIs,63 cases had reflux and heartburn as the main symptoms, accounting for 56.76%,followed by poststernal discomfort, belching, abdominal pain, cough and other related symptoms.Among the 182 patients who had used PPIs during the course of disease,74 sases(40.66%)were infected with Helicobacter pylori, and only 12 cases(6.59%)were detected by 13C breath test before taking PPIs to determine whether there was Hp infection. Conclusion The irrational use of PPIs is common in our hospital. Therefore, the popularization of science and standardized use of PPIs should be strengthened.
