Clinical efficacy observation of traditional Chinese medicine combined with pressing acupuncture in the treatment of COVID 19
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy and prognosis of traditional Chinese medicine combined with pressing acupuncture in treating COVID-19 patients.Methods A randomized controlled trial was conducted.One hundred eighty-six patients were randomly assigned to either the control group(treated with traditional Chinese Medicine)or the experimental group(treated with pressing acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese Medicine)for 14 days.At the end of the trial,patients were assessed for improvement in clinical symptoms.Results 186 patients(126 in the experimental group and 60 in the control group)were included in the complete analysis set.The improvement in the clinical symptoms was more pronounced in the experimental group than in the control group.especially in the pressing acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine treatment after 3 days,dry cough,loss of smell and taste,dizziness and headache symptoms significantly recovered(P<0.05).After 7 days of pressing acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine treatment,more symptoms recovered significantly compared to the control group,including weak,sore throat,stuffy and runny nose(P<0.05).It suggested that the combination of pressing acupuncture with traditional Chinese medicine has a potential advantage in improving the prognosis of patients with COVID-19.No serious adverse events were reported.Conclusion In light of the safety and effectiveness profiles,pressing acupuncture can be considered as a potential treatment method to alleviate clinical symptoms of COVID-19.
