Effect of ultramicro crushing on the physicochemical properties and active ingredient content of Radix Pseudostellaria powder
Objective To study the effect of ultrafine crushing on the physicochemical properties and the content of heterophyllin B of Radix Pseudostellaria powder. Methods The powders were prepared by ultramicrocrushing technique, using the laser particle size meter, scanning electron microscope, powder synthesis stable micro systems for the study of the powder physicochemical properties, and the content of heterophyllin B in the Radix Pseudostellaria powders was determined by HPLC method. Results Compared with the fine powder, the particle size of the ultramicrocrushed Radix Pseudostellaria powder decreased, the powder became less fluid, more filled, and the hydration property increased, and the content of heterophyllin B of Radix Pseudostellaria in the ultramicrocrushed powder was larger than that of the fine powder as measured by the HPLC method. Conclusion Ultramicrocrushing technology can affect the powder physicochemical properties of Radix Pseudostellaria and promote the dissolution of heterophyllin B from Radix Pseudostellaria.
