Retrospective investigation on the results of pre-review of traditional Chinese patent medicines and simple preparations prescrip-tions in a hospital
Objective To investigate the results of pre-examination of traditional Chinese patent medicines and simple preparations prescriptions in a hospital,analyze the risk of drug use,and provide guidance for the safe and standardized application of traditional Chinese patent medicines and simple preparations.Methods 32 486 prescriptions of traditional Chinese patent medicines and simple preparations received from outpatient and emergency dispensaries from April 2022 to April 2023 were collected,16 000 prescriptions were selected by random sampling,and reviewed by the pre-audit system.The prescriptions of traditional Chinese patent medicines and simple preparations with problems were analyzed concretely,and various problems were summarized and statistically analyzed.Results Among 16 000 traditional Chinese patent medicines and simple preparations prescriptions,684 prescriptions with related problems were found,accounting for 4.28%of the total number of investigations.The related issues mainly include the problem of repeated use of drugs(accounting for 38.74%)and the problem of unreasonable usage and dosage(accounting for 33.04%).The main uses of drugs are concentrated in pediatric medication,respiratory disease medication,cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease medication,etc.Some drug instructions lack key information in terms of ingredient content,toxicity issues,adverse reactions,and precautions.Conclusion In the process of pre-review of traditional Chinese patent medicines and simple preparations prescriptions,many drug use risks can be found,mainly focusing on repeated drug use and unreasonable usage and dosage.The medical management system should improve the knowledge base of the pre-review system of traditional Chinese patent medicines and simple preparations prescriptions,strengthen the warning management of toxic drugs and the standardized management of high frequency drugs,so as to improve the safety and rationality of traditional Chinese patent medicines and simple preparations use.
