Meta-analysis of the efficacy and safety of Tongxinluo Capsules in the treatment of acute ischemic stroke
Objective To systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of Tongxinluo Capsules as a therapy for acute ischemic stroke.Methods PubMed,CNKI,VIP and Wanfang databases were systematically searched,and the literature was screened according to the inclusion/exclusion criteria.The two authors independently extracted and verified data from the included literature.The outcome data were combined and analyzed using RevMan 5.3 software.Results A total of 14 RCTs involving 3 341 subjects were included.Meta-analysis showed that combining Tongxinluo Capsule with conventional therapy was better than conventional therapy alone in improving neurological deficits(including lower deficit scores[MD=-3.98,95%CI(-4.53,-3.42)]and higher rates of neurological improvement[RR=1.24,95%CI(1.19,1.30)],improving viability[MD=4.20,95%CI(3.62,4.78)],and lowering NIHSS scores in stroke[MD=-3.83,95%CI(-4.50,-3.16)];there was no statistical difference(P=0.67)in the incidence of adverse events between groups[RR=0.94,95%CI(0.69,1.28)].Conclusion Tongxinluo Capsule used for acute ischemic stroke can enhance the therapeutic effect in improving neurological deficits,enhancing living ability,and reducing the NIHSS score for stroke,and is relatively safe.
