Observation on the effect of PDCA cycle management on drug maintenance and quality management in outpatient pharmacy
Objective To observe the effect of PDCA cycle management on drug maintenance and quality management in outpatient pharmacies.Methods The data before the implementation of PDCA cycle management in outpatient pharmacy of a hospital from January 2019 to December 2021 and after the implementation of PDCA cycle management from January 2022 to December 2023 were extracted for analyzed,and the drug maintenance,pharmacy management quality and drug application in the two periods were compared.Results After the implementation of PDCA cycle management,the mastery rate of drug maintenance knowledge was 90.51%,the mastery rate of drug storage conditions was 94.62%,the compliance rate of storage light was 97.18%,the compliance rate of storage temperature was 97.95%,and the compliance rate of hygiene standards was 95.38%,the indexes were all higher than those before the implementation(P＜0.05).The score of pharmacy management quality after implementation was higher than that before implementation(P＜0.05).After the implementation of PDCA cycle management,the time of dispensing and checking prescription and the number of drug shortage were better than those before the implementation.The drug dispensing error rate(2.86%)and batch number management error rate(2.29%)after the implementation of PDCA cycle management were lower than those before the implementation,and the difference was significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion PDCA cycle management can effectively improve the drug maintenance and quality management in outpatient pharmacies,ensure the drug safety of patients,and improve the irrational situation of drugs.
