The correlation between osteoporosis and neuropsychiatric disorders
Osteoporosis and neuropsychiatric disorders are important physical and mental system diseases that affect human health.In recent years,the incidence rate is on the rise,which has a significant impact on socio-economic development and medical and health services,and has gradually become a public health problem of concern in the world.Osteoporosis and mental disorders have a two-way relationship and mutual influence to a certain extent.There is evidence that various neurological and psychiatric disorders such as depression,Parkinson's disease,and Alzheimer's disease are highly correlated with the occurrence and development of osteoporosis and fragility fractures.As the most common chronic degenerative disease among the elderly population,evidence from epidemiological and clinical studies indicates that osteoporosis coexists with neurological and psychiatric disorders,and there is a two-way relationship to some extent.This article reviews and summarizes the literature on the correlation between osteoporosis and mental disorders in recent years.
