Clinical safety and short-term efficacy of Iodine-125 radioactive particle implantation in the treatment of colorectal cancer liver metastasis
Objective To analyze the clinical safety and short-term efficacy of iodine-125 radioactive particle implantation in the treatment of colorectal cancer liver metastasis.Methods 40 patients with liver metastasis of colorectal cancer admitted to a hospital from January 2021 to April 2023 were selected as the study objects and divided into two groups according to random number table method.The control group(20 cases)received systemic chemotherapy(Folfox or Folfiri regimen),and the study group(20 cases)received systemic chemotherapy combined with minimally invasive interventional surgery to implant iodine-125 radioactive particles.The safety during and after particle implantation,short-term therapeutic effect(2 months),imaging evaluation and postoperative life quality index、laboratory indicators were compared between the two groups.Results There was no significant difference in the incidence of complications between the two groups(P>0.05);the total effective rate of the study group(65.00%)was significantly higher than that of the control group(25.00%)(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in tumor volume between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05),after treatment,the tumor volume of the study group was smaller than that of the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in GIQLI between the two groups before treatment,one month and two months after treatment,GIQLI of the study group were higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in CA125,CA19-9,CEA between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).After treatment,CA125,CA19-9 and CEA in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Iodine-125 radioactive particle implantation in the treatment of liver metastasis of colorectal cancer has good short-term therapeutic effect,can improve patients'quality of life,reduce tumor volume,reduce tumor marker level,and has similar safety as systemic chemotherapy alone.
