Meta-analysis of effectiveness and safety of calcipotriol for vitiligo and to investigate the mechanism
Objective To systematically evaluate the effectiveness and safety of calcipotriol in the treatment of vitiligo and to investigate the mechanism.Methods We searched CBM and CNKI,randomized controlled trials(RCT)on calcipotriol in the treatment of vitiligo were included and compared.The methodological quality of included studies was evaluated and meta-analysis was performed by Rev Man 5.3 software.Results Seven RCTs with a total of 906 patients were included.Meta-analysis showed that calcipotriol could treat the vitiligo.There were statistical differences in total efficiency[OR=4.80,95%CI 3.41-6.77,Z=8.96,P＜0.000 01]and the adverse drug reaction in two groups[OR=0.22,95%CI 0.05-0.94,Z=2.05,P=0.04].Conclusion The treatment of vitiligo with calcipotriol may play a therapeutic role by reversing the lack of regulatory T cells and inhibiting the response of cytotoxic T cells.
