Investigation on current situation of antidepressants combination and off-label drug use in adolescents with mental disorders in the hospital
Objective To investigate and analyze the current situation of antidepressants combination and off-label drug use in adolescents with mental disorders in the hospital.Methods The outpatient prescriptions from adolescents with mental disorders were investigated between January and December 2023.According to drug instructions from National Medical Products Administration,current situation of antidepressants combination and off-label drug use in adolescents with mental disorders was statistically analyzed.Results In the 1 644 pieces of antidepressant prescriptions,there were and 636 pieces of off-label use,with off-label use rate of 38.69%.In the 1 356 pieces of prescriptions containing antidepressants combination,there were 300 pieces(22.12%)with unreasonable combination.In off-label drug use,proportion of no drug labeling for children was the highest(58.49%).In irrational prescriptions,proportions of interaction that might cause adverse outcomes was the highest(56.00%).There were significant differences in off-label drug use rate and unreasonable rate of antidepressants combination among patients at different age groups(P<0.05).There were significant differences in prescription rates of off-label drug use and unreasonable prescription rate of antidepressants combination among physicians with different professional titles(P<0.05).Conclusion Off-label drug use is common in adolescents with mental disorders.It is necessary to formulate relevant clinical guidelines and expert consensus to standardize drug use so as to ensure medication safety of adolescents.
