Robotic distal pancreatosplenectomy(RDPS)is one of the surgical resection modalities for tumors of the pancreatic body and tail.This article reviews the development,surgical indications,resection scope,and postoperative complications of RDPS.It also compares RDPS with traditional surgical methods,and clarifies that RDPS has the advantages of less trauma,faster recovery,shorter average hospital stay,shorter learning curve,higher safety,and thorough lymph node dissection.The aim is to provide scientific guidance to clinicians in choosing the appropriate surgical approach for tumors of the pancreatic body and tail.
