Effects of incentive psychological nursing combined with empowerment education on negative emotions and self-management ability in patients with gynecological malignant tumors after PICC catheterization
Objective To explore the effects of incentive psychological nursing combined with empowerment education on negative emotions,self-management ability and incidence of complications in patients with gynecological malignant tumors after peripherally inserted central catheter(PICC)catheterization. Methods A total of 93 patients with gynecological malignant tumors undergoing chemotherapy through PICC catheterization in Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University were enrolled between November 2019 and November 2022.According to random number table method, they were divided into the observation group(n=46)and the control group(n=47).The control group received incentive psychological nursing, while observation group received additionally empowerment education. The compliance rate, the occurrence of PICC catheterizatio complications,self-management ability, the scores of Hamilton Anxiety Scale(HAMA)and Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD)in the two groups were compared before and after intervention. Results The compliance rate in observation group was higher than that in control group(93.48%vs 76.60%,x2=5.182,P<0.05).After intervention, the scores of daily catheter observation, catheter maintenance compliance, catheter management confidence, abnormal situation handling, information acquisition,catheter-accompanying movement and catheter-accompanying daily life in observation group were higher than those in control group(P<0.05).After intervention,HAMA and HAMD scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.01).During the intervention period, the incidence of PICC catheterization complications in observation group was lower than that in control group(13.04%vs 29.79%,x2=5.416,P<0.05).Conclusion Incentive psychological nursing combined with empowerment education have a good intervention effect in patients with gynecological malignant tumors after PICC catheterization, which can improve negative emotions and self-management ability, and reduce complications.
