Effect of Selenium on Reproductive Hormones in Early Pregnant Does
This study was conducted to investigate the effect of selenium on reproductive hormones in serum of early pregnant does.Fifty healthy cashmere does in oestrus with similar body weight were divided into 5 groups randomly,each group with 10 does.One group were fed on a basal diet,the other four groups were fed on a basal diet complemented with 0.5,1.0 mg/kg DM methionine selenium or sodium selenite respectively.The results showed:①Compared with control group,there was a significant increase in serum FSH content of groups with 0.5,1.0 mg/kg DM methionine selenium or 1.0 mg/kg DM sodium selenite supplementation; ②Supplemented Se in diet increased P4 and E2 concentration in serum dramatically (P<0.05) in early pregnancy,and would help maintain the pregnancy.
