Influence of Delivery Season on Littering Traits of ZIKA New Zealand White Rabbits
1 649 litters from 665 ZIKA New Zealand White Rabbits from 2010 to 2013 were choosed to study the influence of delivery season on does littering traits.The results showed that delivery season significantly affected calving traits of females (P<0.01).The litter size(LZ),number of born alive(NBA),litter weight at birth(LWB) and individual litter weight at birth(IL-WB) in spring were the highest and the LZ and NBA in autumn were in middle,while LWB and ILWB were the smallest in summer.Since the litter size was the most important indicator of reproductive performance,it was suggested that spring was the best breeding season.
