Study on Hair Growth Regularity of Short-hair Rabbit
To research hair growth regularity of short-hair rabbit, adult short-hair rabbit was used as the experimental object. From the 4th to the 11th week, the back hair was collected once a week by plucking, the length of coarse, fine and awn was measured, and the growth curves of three types of hair were simulated by growth curve models. The results showed that the length of the three kinds of hairs increased significantly (P<0.05) with the age during the period of the 4th-6th week. There was no significant difference(P >0.05)in hair length during the 6th-11th week, except the coarse hair length between the 7th week and the 11th week. The fine length during the 6th-9th week showed that the hair almost had no growth. The growth curve fitting results showed that the Logistic growth curve model was better than the Von Bertalanffy model. The growth inflection point were 3.69,3.82,4.07 weeks for coarse, fine and awn, respectively, while the length inflection points of three types hair were 17.58,13.4, 16.21 cm respectively. The results can provide a reference for the further study of rabbit hair growth ,hair follicle development and apoptosis.
