Establishment of Method to Predict Pregnancy by Color Doppler at 21 Days After Insemination in Simmental Cattle
The purpose of this paper was to establish a method for using color Doppler to evaluate luteal blood flow and predict pregnancy status of Simental cow at 21 days after insemination.98 Simental cows were selected for timed artificial insemination(AI).The ovaries were examined by B type ultrasound and color Doppler at 21 days after insemi-nation,and the maximum area of the corpus luteum and the area of corpus luteumblood flow were collected;at the same time, blood samples were collected to analyze the hormone level, and ultrasound pregnancy determination was performed at 35 days after insemination. The results showed that 8 unpregnant cows were detected by subjective pre-judgement at 21 days after AI,26 unpregnant cows were checked out under the blood flow area as a criterion,23 un-pregnant cows were detected with blood flow luteal ratio prejudgement, and 36 unpregnant cows were detected by ultra-sound examination at 35 days after AI;the levels of progesterone, and ratio of estradiol to progesterone in pregnant cows were significant higher than those in unpregnant cows(P<0.01);the prognostic criterion of the blood flow area luteal area ratio was 100%sensitive for unpregnant cows, nulliparous cows can be detected as early as possible by this method, and compared with ultrasound examination of pregnancy 30-35 days after AI,color Doppler examination 21 days after AI allows unpregnant cows to undergo timed artificial insemination again 9-15 days earlier.
