Epidemiological Investigation and Analysis of Camel Infection with Brucellosis Somewhere in Gansu Province
In order to further confirm the positive event of Brucellosis detected in camels sold in Aksai Kazak autono-mous county,Jiuquan city,Gansu province, evaluate its risk and causes, and block the route of transmission,in this study,a field epidemiological investigation was conducted on 36 local camel farmers, and the serum samples collected from 2 155 camels were screened by rose bengal plate and confirmed by tube agglutination test.Six camels were ran-domly selected from the positive camels to collect liver and spleen samples, and two PCR tests were used to confirm and classify Brucella. At the same time, after culling the positive camels detected in the camel herd, blood samples col-lected from the remaining 796 camels raised for 30 days were re-examined.The results showed that among 2 155 ca-mels from 36 farmers,242 were positive for Brucellosis, with a positive rate of 11.23%;the 796 camels of the positive camel group were re-examined after 30 days, and 171 positive camels were detected, with a positive rate of 21.48%.The results of BCSP31-PCR test showed that 6 spleen and liver samples were positive for Brucella pathogen. The re-sults of AMOS-PCR test showed that the pathogen of Brucella infection in camel was Brucella melitensis. The results of field epidemiological investigation showed that the cause of Brucellosis in camels might be related to the mixed feed-ing of local cattle, sheep and camels, the transportation of susceptible animals, the exchange of male camels, the media, the spread of wild animals and celebrations. The camel infection rate was high, and there were many risk factors for in-fection.The existing detection and purification technology could not effectively remove the disease in a short period of time. This study preliminarily identified the causes of Brucellosis infection in camels, and laid a foundation for the later exploration of comprehensive prevention and control measures for Brucellosis in camels combining early warning,im-munization and detection and purification.
