Effect of Heat Stress on Production Performance in Milking Buffaloe
The experiment was to study the effects of different levels of heat stress on milk yield, milk components, milk somatic cell count and milk urea nitrogen in milking buffaloes. In this paper, the temperature humidity index(THI)was calculated based on the temperature and humidity data in Nanning recorded by China Meteorologicai Data Service Centre. And combined with DHI(Dairy herd improvement)data, the general linear model was used to explore the effects of heat stress levels on milk production performance of buffaloes. The results showed that in June,July and Au-gust,Nanning was under moderate heat stress, and milk production decreased as heat stress intensifies(P<0.05).The milk protein and total milk solids in mild heat stress were significantly higher than those in without calorific stress and moderate heat stress(P<0.05).The milk fat content in moderate heat stress were significantly higher than that in without calorific stress and mild heat stress(P<0.05).The lactose content in without calorific stress was significantly higher than that in mild and moderate heat stress periods(P<0.05).The SCC and MUN in the period without heat stress were higher than those in the mild and moderate heat stress(P<0.05).In summary, the different levels of heat stress have dif-ferent effects on milk yield and milk composition.
