Perception and Evaluation System of Rural Landscape Feature Based on Place Attachment of Indigenous People:A Case Study of Beizhai Village in Huairou,Beijing
Rural landscape evaluation is the basis of rural landscape planning. However, most of the evaluation systems available are established from the perspective of outsiders, ignoring the needs of indigenous people.Besides, the methods adopted to establish these evaluation systems are not objective enough.Taking Beizhai Village in Huairou District,Beijing as an example, this paper applies the high-frequency word analysis and statistics method to screens out 13 important indicators on landscape feature, which fall into the four categories of natural landscape, landscape space, landscape quality and rural culture,as well as the indicators for place of attachment of indigenous people, based on the theory of place attachment. With the indicators, the structural equation model is constructed to carry out questionnaire validation, from which the rural landscape evaluation system is established in view of the needs of indigenous people, and the working mechanism of landscape characteristics for the place attachment is explored,in the hope of providing references for the rural landscape planning oriented to residents'needs. The results show that the mean values of landscape feature perceptions can be ranked in a descending order of natural landscape(3.91)>landscape quality(3.83)>vernacular culture(3.81)>landscape space(3.63).Indigenous people have different preferences and concerns in their perception of rural landscape features, and the elements with a high degree of relevance to their daily lives provide a stronger sense of place for the villagers in Beizhai Village.
