Relationship Between Conservation of Ancient Tree Resources and Residents'Cognitive Behavior in Traditional Ethnic Settlements:A Case Study of Northern Region of Guangxi
Ancient tree resources are both natural and cultural heritage,and also the carrier of the beautiful nostalgic landscape.With an eye on the traditional ethnic settlements in the northern region of Guangxi,this paper investigates the current state of ancient trees,residents'cognition and intention of participation and makes a descriptive statistical analysis based on the theory of informed behavior in psychology,and then uses the principal component analysis method and fitted regression equation to analyze the relationship between the protection of ancient tree resources and residents'cognitive behaviors in traditional ethnic settlements of the northern region of Guangxi.The results show:1)Residents'cognitive behaviors have significant direct and positive influences on the protection of ancient tree resources and intention of protection behavior,respectively;residents'cognitive behaviors impose significantly positive and indirect influence on the protection of ancient trees through the intentions of protection behavior,while the intentions of protection behavior have the significantly direct and positive influence on the protection of ancient tree resources;2)Among residents'cognitive behaviors,basic cognition is the top priority,which can directly affect the protection of ancient tree resources in the northern region of Guangxi,and also transform the intentions of protection to the increased willingness to protect ancient tree resources.It is suggested that the residents'recognition of ancient tree resources in the traditional ethnic settlements should be improved through the increased science popularization and publicity of ancient trees and the establishment of ancient tree protection database,thereby strengthening the protection of ancient tree resources and improving cultural inheritance in traditional ethnic settlements.
