Development Status,Progress Indicators, and Overall Layout of Forest City Cluster in the Ningbo Metropolitan Area Based on Sino-European Cooperation Research on Forest Planning in City Cluster
A region is an ecological community, necessitating collaborative efforts on the urban agglomeration scale to promote the development of forest city clusters.Based on the analysis of the urban agglomeration status in the Ningbo metropolitan area, this study identifies the issues to be solved, including the systemic weakening of the ecological security pattern, the need to improve the stability of ecological spaces, the requirement to improve the quality of forest resources, and the need to enhance ecological well-being,ecological culture, and rural ecological welfare. On this basis,in view of the requirements of master plans and national and international experience,we establish an indicator system for the development of the forest city cluster in the Ningbo metropolitan area, which includes 7 primary indicators(ecological resource quantity, ecological network, ecological protection and restoration, biodiversity, ecological culture, ecological welfare, and regional coordination)and 24 secondary indicators.Additionally, based on the status and development goals of Ningbo metropolitan area,we propose a layout for the forest city cluster, which is composed of three parts,i.e.the metropolitan area with two mountains, three bays and one island chain, the central area with two flanks and multiple corridors and nodes, and the ecological development core area with green heart, green barrier, green core, green corridors, green networks and green parks. The results of this study will be of guiding significance for the development of the forest city cluster of Ningbo and also provide significant references for forest city clusters development in other regions of China.
