Spatial Distribution Characteristics of Forest Therapy Bases in Guangdong Province and Evaluation of Forest Therapy Products
Forest therapy base is the important place where forest therapy activities are carried out.Its service and products determine the quality of forest therapy activities. To explore scientific methods to evaluate the service of forest therapy and objectively reflect the distribution of forest therapy bases and the supply and development of forest therapy products, the paper takes the forest therapy bases in Guangdong Province to analyze their spatial distribution characteristics from the perspectives of geographical distribution, scale and radiation area.Based on the analysis, the forest therapy product system is established, with which the licensed forest therapy bases of different scales in different regions are described for identifying the differences in product services and functions. The result shows that the forest therapy bases are mostly small-scaled and spatially unevenly distributed, which are clustered in the Pearl River Delta and northern Guangdong, and significant differences in scale index among different cities reflect the imbalanced capacity of the bases to provide forest therapy services. The licensed bases can provide 48 types of forest therapy products in 10 subcategories under 5 categories. The 5 categories of forest therapy products have different rates of provision, ranking from high to low into recreational forest therapy product(FFTP),sportive forest therapy product(SFTP),cultural forest therapy product(CFTP),medical forest therapy product(MFTP)and facility of forest therapy(FFT).There is no significant difference in the provision rate of the same category between regions, but heterogeneity presents between different base sizes.Affected by the number of the bases, northern Guangdong and the Pearl River Delta region have more categories of forest therapy products, and in addition, the small-and medium-size bases have more types of forest therapy products than the large-scale ones.In view of the evaluation results,it is suggested that the future construction of forest therapy base in Guangdong should be directed to improving the capacity of service provision and the quality of forest therapy products so as to promote balanced regional development for enhanced facilitation of access to forest therapy activities and increase the number of forest therapy bases for diversified forest therapy products and their services, and stress the quality and differentiation to improve the capacity of forest therapy services.
