A Meta Analysis of the Prenatal Diagnostic Value of MRI for Cleft Lip and Palate
Objective To evaluate the clinical utility of MRI for prenatal diagnosis of fetal cleft lip using a meta-analysis.Methods the databases of EMBASE,PubMed,web of science,Cochrane Library,Wanfang,CNKI and Chinese Biomedical Literature were searched to find all relevant studies evaluating MRI for prenatal diagnosis ofcleft lip and palate, and the search duration was from January 2000 to December 2022,meanwhile.Inclusion and exclusion criteria were developed, and Stata 17.0 was used for meta-analysis:to examine heterogeneity;Pooled diagnostic odds ratio(DOR),sensitivity,specificity,+LR,-LR,AUC,a priori posterior probability and 95%Cls were calculated. Results fifteen articles with 639 cases were included.Pooled sensitivity, specificity and 95%Cl for MRI were:0.97(0.95-0.98),0.91(0.77,0.97),respectively.Pooled AUC and 95%Cl for MRI:0.98(0.96,0.99).Condusion prenatal diagnosis of fetal cleft lip malformations by MRI is of great diagnostic value, especially when the diagnosis of cleft palate is unfavorable or cannot be made unambiguously, and MRI examination can be the preferred noninvasive test and provide more accurate information and opinions for management and counseling in the perinatal period.
