Application Value of 11C-MET-PET/CT Combined with MRI in Target Volume Delineation after Brain Glioma Radiotherapy
Objective To explore the application value of 11C-methionine-positron emission tomography/computed tomography(11C-MET-PET/CT)combined with magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)in target volume delineation after brain glioma radiotherapy. Methods A total of 80 patients with brain glioma admitted to Xianyang Hospital of Yan'an University were enrolled between March 2021 and March 2024.According to envelope method, they were divided into combination group and MRI group,40 cases in each group.MRI group underwent MRI examination, while combination group underwent MRI examination combined with 11C-MET-PET/CT for target volume delineation. The tumor target volume[gross tumor volume(GTV),clinical target volume(CTV),planned target volume(PTV)],result errors[validation film error, isocentric mean error, target coincidence of GTV(TCGTV),target coincidence of CTV(TCCTV)],planned radiation dose of target volume(maximum dose, minimum dose, mean dose),maximum and minimum radiation doses of organs at risk(OAR)in the two groups were compared. Results GTV,CTV and PTV in combination group were lower than those in MRI group(P<0.05).TCGTV and TCCTV in combination group were higher than those in MRI group, while validation film error and isocentric mean error were lower than those in MRI group(P<0.05).The maximum, minimum and mean radiation dose of target volume in combination group were lower than those in MRI group(P<0.05).The maximum and minimum radiation doses of OAR in combination group were lower than those in MRI group(P<0.05).Conclusion 11C-MET-PET/CT combined MRI for target volume delineation can effectively narrow the scope of target area, accurately control radiation dose and reduce radiation damage to organs around the target area.
