Objective To understand the current status of serum iodine in pregnant women in Anhui Province, study the trend of serum iodine level in different pregnancies, explore the related factors of serum iodine, and establish the reference range of serum iodine in pregnant women with normal thyroid function(hereinafter referred to as"Jia Gong").Methods Six provincial monitoring sites in Anhui Province in 2021 were selected to collect urine and blood samples from women in early, middle and late pregnancy.Urinary iodine, serum iodine and thyroid activity index[thyroid hormone(TSH),free triiodothyronine(FT3),free thyroxine(FT4),thyroid peroxidase antibody(TPOAb)and thyroglobulin antibody(TgAb)]levels were measured. The 95%reference range of serum iodine in pregnant women with normal thyroid function was established by percentile method. Results A total of 587 pregnant women were tested, and the median urinary iodine was 147.00 μg/L,which was in the iodine deficiency level(<150 μg/L).There was no significant difference in urinary iodine level among different pregnancies(H=4.590,P>0.05).High iodine diet had no effect on serum iodine level(Z=-0.600,P>0.05),but had a weak positive correlation with urinary iodine concentration(r=0.124,P<0,05).The median serum iodine was 75.47(60.78,93.25)μg/L,and the 95%medical reference range of serum iodine in pregnant women with normal thyroid function was initially set at 32.99-129.43 μg/L,and the serum iodine level was significantly different in different pregnancies(H=26.20,P<0.05).The median serum iodine in the first trimester was significantly lower than that in the second trimester and the third trimester(Z=-4.652,Z=-3.920,P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between the median serum iodine in the second trimester and the third trimester(Z=0.906,P>0.05).There was a weak positive correlation between serum iodine and TSH in pregnant women(r=0.10,P<0.05).There was a weak negative correlation with FT3 and FT4(r=-0.119,-0.117,P<0.05).There was no correlation with TPOAb and TgAb(r=-0.043,-0.030,P>0.05).There was no correlation between serum iodine and urine iodine in pregnant women(r=0.032,P>0.05).Conclusion The reference range of serum iodine in pregnant women with normal thyroid function in Anhui Province was established to provide scientific basis for individual iodine nutrition evaluation in pregnant women.
