Objective To understand the distribution and interaction of three species of pathogenic Yersinia pestis in rodents of Mus musculus plague foci during the quiescent period in Yunnan, and to explore the microecological environment of Yersinia pes-tis,so as to provide basis for the prevention and control of pathogenic Yersinia pestis. Methods From 2016 to 2017,using a multi-layered random sampling method, cecal specimens of mice were collected from 10 Mus musculus plague foci counties in Yunnan. After enrichment at 4℃,the specimens were screened using PCR for foxA,inv, and caf1 genes, and pathogenic Yersinia was isolated using Yersinia selective agar.Statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS 17.0 software to compare the carrier rates across different regions. Results A total of 2 865 rodent cecal samples were collected from 10 plague foci counties in Yunnan,74 strains of Yersinia enterocolitica were isolated, with an isolation rate of 2.58%(74/2 865).No Yersinia pestis or Yersinia pseudotuberculosis were isolated. Conclusion Yersinia enterocolitica is present in rodents from plague foci in Yunnan. The isolation rates vary across different regions, and regions that entered the quiescent period earlier had lower isolation rates of Yersinia enterocolitica. No Yersinia pestis or Yersinia pseudotuberculosis were found.
