Objective To analyze the urinary iodine results of children and pregnant women in Baiyun District from 2018 to 2022,the iodine nutrition status of children aged 8-10 and pregnant women,and master the effectiveness of iodine deficiency disorders(IDD)prevention and control,so as to provide a reference basis for the subsequent prevention and control of IDD in Baiyun District.Methods According to the monitoring plan,200 school-age children aged 8-10 and 100 pregnant women were selected from the jurisdiction to collect urine samples every year,and the urine iodine was measured using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry.Results From 2018 to 2022,1 004 urine samples from children and 500 urine samples from pregnant women were collected,the median urine iodine of children was 199.5 μg/L,and median urine iodine of pregnant women was 162.1 μg/L,which were all within the appropriate range of iodine intake.The median urine iodine of children in 5 years were 186.5,190.5,199.2,244.0,204.0 μg/L,there were significant difference in the median urinary iodine of children in 5 years(H=19.958,P<0.05),but the median urinary iodine in 2021 and 2022 exceeded the appropriate range.The median urine iodine of pregnant women in 5 years were 134.2,180.7,223.2,151.5,153.1 µg/L,there were significant difference in the median urinary iodine of pregnant women in 5 years(H=19.315,P<0.05),and the median urinary iodine of pregnant women in 2018 was being the range of insufficient iodine intake.Conclusion The iodine nutrition levels of children aged 8-10 years and pregnant women in Baiyun District were generally at an appropriate level.However,the education of IDD knowledge still needs to be strengthenerl among the crowd.
