Objective To understand changing of C-terminal telopeptide of type Ⅰ collagen(CTX-Ⅰ)of degradation product of collagen Ⅰ,so as to provide scientific data for prevention and control of Kashin-Beck disease(KBD).Methods Sixty-one adults and 40 control were selected in KBD areas of Xinghai County and Guide County,Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture,Qinghai Province,and they were divided into KBD case group and internal control group.The serum CTX-Ⅰ level was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results A total of 101 persons were involved in this study,the median levels of serum CTX-Ⅰ were 416.91 pg/mL in patients with KBD,and those in internal control group were 363.59 pg/mL.There was significant difference in serum CTX-Ⅰ levels between the two groups(Z=2.375,P=0.018).Conclusion CTX-Ⅰ of degradation product of collagen Ⅰ in KBD adult patients in Qinghai Province were increased significantly.
